| Vincent (Vinnie) Genova | ||
| New York born pianist Vince Genova has performed in classical and jazz styles, nationally and internationally. He has performed with jazz instrumentalists, such as Donald Byrd, Larry Coryell, Nathan Davis, Eddie Henderson, James Moody, Sonny Stitt, and with vocalists Harry Belafonte, Roberta Flack, and Mark Murphy. Vince Genova's early training at the New York School of Performing Arts gave him the opportunity of intensive exposure to music and music performance. His later acceptance into the U.S. Navy, the Navy School of Music, and subsequent position as pianist in the U.S. Navy Band, led to future work in the Washington, D.C. area with Buck Hill and the Washington Jazz Ensemble, and in New York with guitarist Larry Coryell. During his transition to civilian life, Mr. Genova studied privately with pianist Oscar Peterson in Toronto, Canada. After relocating in Pennsylvania, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, under the guidance of Nathan Davis. Upon completion of his Ph.D. Exam, Vince departed Pittsburgh for a nine-month world tour as pianist/accompanist for singer Harry Belafonte. After the tour, he left for Australia and completed Doctoral research in the Northern Peninsula Area of Cape York. He extended his stay to perform solo piano recitals of "European Classical" music, and Jazz styles with Australian and International musicians in Sydney. Following his return to the U.S., Mr. Genova received a Teaching Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, lecturing in Jazz History, which culminated in a Doctorate of Music in 1991. He also remained active in performance circles. As part of the 1990 and 1992 Mellon Jazz Festival in Pittsburgh, Dr. Genova then directed the Master Class for Keyboards, and performed with instrumentalists Donald Byrd, Nathan Davis, Robin Eubanks, Eddie Harris, Jimmy Heath, and Arturo Sandoval. Dr. Genova accepted a 3 year residency as Professor of Music at Central State University, Ohio, where he lectured in Counterpoint, Jazz History, Jazz Keyboard Harmony, Jazz Theory | ||

| I attended the 6/9 reunion and had a blast. Although the only thing that is still the same about the old building is the facade the nostalgia was still present. If you go to the following website: http://www.liben.com/paphotos/ you can view some of the photos from that weekend. I am married to Leland Moran and live in Sarasota, FL. | ||
