| After graduating from p.a. I went to importing high fashion
ladies high fashion designer shoes. I had 6 famous shoe stores in N.Y.C and
New Jersey. The trade name of the stores was Jerri's Shoe Outlets. I had
quite a lot of famous actresses, such Sheryl Ladd, Diana Ross, Diane
Carroll, Nina Simone, Faye Dunaway, AnneJackson, Julie Belafonte and many
others. I was class mates with Dom Deluise, Vic Morrow, Conard Fowlkes,I
have great memories of P.A. ,with all the great music teachers. Well so long

| John Steinmetz entered Performing Arts in 1948 and graduated in 1951. He fondly remembers his teachers: Ruthel Provet, Dr. Marjorie Dycke, Sidney Lumet, Ted Post, Sid Walters, and not so fondly; Larry Oliven. During his school years and upon his graduation he acted on the radio, in television and in theater. Drafted into the Army, he produced and directed 11 shows aboard ship on the way to Germany. There, he performed on the radio and in Service Clubs. He worked his way thru City College. He included Film credits to his resume. Working for CBS, Channel 13/WNET, PBS, ABC, he found it easier to obtain Directing jobs. He was employed by the ABC Television Network for 30 years and Free Lanced on Videos, Industrials, Commercials, TV Cable. During that time, he was party to several televised historic events. He still free lances. He has directed in Berlin (in German) and in Munich. He is an honorary Judge at the ACE, DGA and Emmy Awards. He taught Audio-Visual Techniques at the City College of New York. He has been elected to several honorary offices at his professional organization; the Directors Guild of America. He may be reached at jstuv@rcn.com |
